Cordis is an independent type foundry with a small, carefully drawn catalogue. We designed and built a website where every typeface can be tested directly in the browser, then licensed without leaving the page.
The site is set entirely in the foundry’s own faces, so browsing the catalogue is already a demonstration of it. Layouts stay editorial and quiet, letting the letterforms carry the page.
Fonts are served locally and subset per page, so even specimen-heavy screens load quickly, and the responsive grid keeps large display settings readable down to a phone.
The specimen is the centre of the site: editable sample text, a size and leading slider, and live control over weights and OpenType features, all rendering in the real font. Every setting updates the URL, so a designer can send a colleague the exact specimen they were looking at. Printed proofs from the foundry were used as the reference for on-screen spacing and colour.
